Week 1 & 2

I am back to posting on the internet. I haven't had much to blog since usually I like to post cute pictures and show work in progress but i've just been settling in back to CalArts. There was some trouble deciding what classes to take, and I would post my schedule but because I am the worlds most undecided person am adding/dropping classes still to this week.

I will say that lately i've been interested in getting back into fashion, I felt I lost myself a little over summer but now with my new haircut, nails, and some wardrobe items, I am starting to feel a lot better.

I also need to get back in the habit of watching movies, I think i'll watch the original TRON tonight, and have started watched the complete Sopranos! So exciting.

There's been a lot going on but I think it's finally time to start working from my room and get a little break but the Butler building (which is the stop-mo desk area) I'm sorry! I love you Butler!!

This is what as been happening lately: BFA 1 party at my place, drinking, getting nails done for first time, getting haricut for the first time since I was in the 8th grade, learning CG, learning how to program music with code, daydreaming about my film, making a mini secret documentary that will come out of nowhere, decorating my room, and deciding to be home more than at school.

We'll see what happens! and my film this year will be crazy.

BFA-2

Tomorrow classes start and I am spending my last Sunday here organizing and decorating my room.  I feel anxious and nervous, and am also starting to work on campus as the film/video office girl.  What exactly does the film/video office girl do? Answer phones, fax things, answer questions, and wear cute mod dresses and pretend she's in Mad Men.  Okay maybe I added in that last part.

I'd say my room is started to come out pretty nice, I will be decorating more throughout the school year.  I have been obsessed lately with the idea of making gifts for special friends, and plan on starting to possibly make a gift a month to give out to someone who I felt helped me out in a time in need.  Hopefully these little "gifts of the month" will work out because it's something I really want to do!

I had rough summer where I didn't enjoy being back at home except to see my kit kats (my two cats) and teach an animation class in Austin which I will be posting the final projects once I do sound design.  (Ugh I hate sound design!!)

Anyways here is my room and I have been having a great week, i've seen friends every single day including a birthday party, 2 romantic girl dates with a friend in Los Angeles and Venice, running errands, movie nights, my own get together and a housewarming party where I experienced my first hangover.  Thanks college.

I finally had the chance to take some nice photos of my installations, no more bad cell phone pics! Although I do have an iphone 4S now.  It has already been dropped twice in the 1st week :(

Half o' Summer updating

I haven't felt like blogging much lately, probably because Twitter and Tumblr have become my new best internet friends.

I was actually getting really stressed about getting a website but then realized, I should just be patient and wait until I find someone who can help me make a really nice designed one.

This summer has been non-stop 5 week 8 am - 3:30 of Summer School of French and Government that is finally now over!!! I am not a morning person AT ALL.

Anyways, now for UPDATES!!!

My film "Bored Girl" screened at the San Antonio Film Festival, which led to some radio press at the local college station here in town, 90.1

I think the radio interviews went well, beside from me being a tiny (any by tiny i mean a lot) awkward.

My Film "RED" will be screened at  this years NSA (National Stereoscopic Association) Gallery July 25 - 30th in Costa Mesa:

"Bored Girl" - (1:05) This was my final for my Stop-Mo basics class, I hated animating this puppet but I think for a days worth of shooting I got a good short film about teen angst out of it.



"Aunt Patsy" - (2:19) My final cut-out film! Made this in 1 week, super rushed and had to make an alternative ending that actually worked out better I think, anyways the voice actress on this was incredible and pretty much makes the whole film!  This film may go on private very soon..




"RED" - (1:39) This film requires a red filter to reveal the bottom layers, I wanted to make a film about my 1st year at calarts with 1st year students.  Weirdly enough this film came out very personal to me and has a few small hidden images that are easy to miss.




I still have tons more of vids and pics to post but as for now enjoy my final calarts pieces! I will also have my mini pet store film finished with sound editing hopefully within a month so I can post that up online too!
