SUMMER 2013

My first post about Summer '13

I spent the first few weeks working at my desk in Butler until they finally had to lock up the building.  I managed to move out of Lakeshore and am  now living in a super cute 1 bedroom in Val Verde with my new cat Gravy.

I also have had adventures such as partying it up in Santa Monica, Asavari's Installation in Venice, Werner Herzdog meet with Tempe :), Pizza adventures with Lizzy, swims with Quique, BeardHaus with Melody, BBQ with Jeni, and now all i'm in the mood for is to start experimenting with new art. I want to do it all. Photography, collaging, light art, museums, flower pressing. I'm motivated to get back in my habit of wanting to learn it all instead of focusing on one thing. I guess that's just the way I work.

I'm excited to spend the rest of my summer here with my new kitten and hopefully interning or working on my own pieces and even get into galleries.  I currently have 3 pieces at the international toy theater festival in new york and I really hope someone documented my stuff!

i'm also itching getting back my tumblr.. not sure if that's wise.  Anyways everything seems very open right now and i'm appreciating all my friends company and my new boy cat :)

Some of my mini art got accepted into Great Small Works in NY!

It will be in the gallery during the middle of June, and if I can somehow save enough money, maybe i'll fly out to attend the festival!

Now it's time to finish my bathtub film and mini pet shop film,  I also have a final concert, digital arts installation, and cabinets of curiosity display.  Waiting for the semester to end but also anxious for FALL SEMESTER!!!! Then I can take robotics!!! Yes!!!

So much work to do, not enough money, and too many shoes I wish to own.

DIGITAL ARTS EXPO SUBMISSION 2013

Experimental Animation BFA-2
Glitching in Real Time - Working Title
CS313 - A live feed iSight camera manipulation that picks up on colors to subtract and then replace by revealing animation/video playing underneath.  This will be like glitch art only in real time and allow interactivity within a room.  There will also be a Green Screen in the background that will also be subtracted allowing for the person to seem fully immersed in the world, or inside the film playing.

So far I have only eliminated the color Red, but plan to also do Green and Blue.  I also need to insert the animation I will be using, currently the image being used is a stock photo for testing.



The Red on my face, backpack, and apple all revealing the astronaut photo underneath.

Need -

Laptop - Provided
2 C-Stands - Film Cage help?
Green Screen - Video Studio
Prefer to be in MachLab to use one of the monitors or would prefer the main projection screen

I have no idea what week of school this is..

Posting some work from Leo's Cabinets of Curiosity.

 Panorama assignment - use magazine, I made burning houses turning into ashes with mountains and a sky back drop

Book art - Do anything with a book. Added mini led lights, story about a scientist dealing with a young girl and boy

 

Polly Pocket art!!! - This was a cabinets of curiosity assignment, I got really inspired by old bug displays pinned with needles and have been wanting to use my polly's.  Too bad i've lost so many more over the years! uh!

I bought this toy off the internet - I'm going to try to attach small led lights onto the penguins to create a sort of light show in a pitch black space for Janie's class

I stil have so much more work to do! ALL FINALS!!!

ahhh!! But I will say that i'm really excited about all of these, just need to get myself back in work mode! and less of eat chocolate in bed and watch l word mode...

my film!! it's sad that my film is always last on my priority list :( but I think it's because i'm so close to the final edit then all I need is sound! So i'm not too stressed yet.. I'm really enjoying my classes but have found myself wanting to just go on adventures with friends instead of working. It's probably because the weather is so nice now and I really want to escape.  Only a few more weeks to go before summer!
